Are you planning to intergrate and of the duplicated files from the beholders over to the driders as a combined hak, or is that something dev's need to plan for in our release times?

The only file that is absolutely needed with the drider as a monster is the appearance.2da. Anything else, if there is anything else, would be optional.

That said, I don't see why there won't be a combined version of that 2da available. I'll probably end up using the beholder stuff to do it anyway because it's convenient.

Great thanks for that, some make different paks for each project and then try to merge them is a nightmare...:( Like I said it is more a planning question than anything

Kres,

I'm planning to add support for anything Bouncy Rock does to my pack. I'll have the 2da entries in my stuff but I doubt I distribute the actual models and supporting files. That way it's optional and any updates they do won't require a new version by me (unless it's a 2da file updated). It would be updated separately by the end user (you guys, Loudent, Talernon, Lady Elvenstar, etc).

Hey dirtywick. I guess you already know that I need that combined hak file for AHTDR. Would be great to have it conveniently shipped with the release of the drider model.

;)

To which I would suggest you break the 2da files out of any zip file for a given creature and have it available as a second download on the page. This way when you release a new creature you just have to upload a new "2da_files.zip" file to each of the creature pages.

Drider.zip with the tgas, scripts, mdls, etc.
2da_files.zip with just the 2da files (appearance, feats, spells, visual effects).

RWS does this with their tilesets I believe so that they don't have to keep updating every release they have just for the 2da files.

I also started doing this for the Skulhak and Content files for Skullport. Definitely the way to go.

2da's in a separate package has always been the way to go unless you do versioning (which IMO is more work) unless you use the same 2da's for each project, and update the Beholders and what ever else all at the same time, that would suck on a PW stand point

That is half of the reason I asked Kaedrin about merging the two sets of 2das... I been working with a DEV to make a set of combined CC 2da files based on all the posted CC content. There been too many times I have ran across conflicts and decide that it is not worth the hassle of editing it, just to add the content, no matter how good it is.
