I am having issues with the toolset.

Running Vista Ultimate 64.

For some reason the toolset wants to save inside the programs files instead of the document files.

Also certain placables (like the alchemy workbench) causes an error loop to occur so the only way out is CTRL+ALT+DEL ) ALT+F4 will not work.

I've been on the toolset all day trying to make it work. I might just have to beta test if I can't get it up and running. =(

Another idea.

Friendly treasure hunt (around the neighborhood or maybe an inn).

I'm amazed by and love how quick you guys can spring into action - the pumpkin beholder logo is awesome! I see jclef's post as I leave work yesterday - come in to work this morning and it's all kicked off!

I thumbed through Heroes of Horror at home and might work on a quick adaptation of something from there...

No quite custom content - but do people have a standard 'neutral' faction they use, and should we keep that the same?

Do what ever theme you wish to. There can be combat in your interior theme, CC, VO etc. The only thing we ask is that you create your hak and have it ready to bundle into the main module.

The idea is variety and fun in the spirit of Halloween! The more variety the better. Each modders home/dwelling/structure will be unique to to each modders creation.

Thanks for taking part in this community project!

Regards
Liso

Woot! Got the toolset to work again.

Some placeable items will cause me to crash and I cannot use the terrain tools, so going to make interior stuff only.

I've already started to fiddle, and a few questions/thoughts came up.

  • When naming objects, prefix your objects with something unique (I'm using "dw"). That way we don't have multiple people having a "Skeleton" tagged object, causing scripts that refer to the "Skeleton" object breaking.
  • Can we get the MODULE_SWITCH_ENABLE_TAGBASED_SCRIPTS flag turned on? That makes it easier for people to create custom On Activate events.
  • When creating custom content, we'll have to be careful about 2da lines and coordinating those.
  • I was going to add my own voice for my NPC, and throw the fxe and wav files into the mod file. Sound okay?
  • We should probably be careful not to hand out items that are too powerful, otherwise other people's encounters may become too easy.

Fun, fun.

These are some great points Pipboy 3000. We will encourage people to do custom stuff like voices or anything else. So adding things is great. But I believe Jason wants everything else in a hak. But Jason will need to answer that one as he'll be the one to put everything together. I'm sure we can do MODULE_SWITCH_ENABLE_TAGBASED_SCRIPTS = ON as well.

I'll go ahead and add some of these points of yours to the thread. Thanks :)

Good points. In order to make jclef's job easier, I would also suggest that we have a place for reserving 2da lines as we go so that we avoid conflicts up front.
