What: This is an idea to bring the community of builders together for a collaborative module project in the Halloween spirit.

The system is simple - One exterior area that will link together many individual interior projects.

Each builder that joins the project will only need to do the following things:

* Build an interior (Your House)
* Create yourself (NPC) w/ a simple conversation ("Hi, I'm <name>, happy Halloween!"
* Then create a trick or treat for the Player.

Example of Tricks & Treats:

* Haunted House of Horrors (walkthrough)
* Share a Spooky Story
* Give out a cool custom item that does neat things

Who: Any NWN2 modder that's got time from now until Oct to create the above.

When: Tested and playable submissions should be entered by Oct 13th. This will allow us time to combine it all together into a cohesive format.

Combat: Balance according to a level 5 character.

Custom Content: The following Custom Content will automatically be included with the module.

RWS All in One Hak
BouncyRock Haks
Cobwebs
Readable Books
Lip Flappers

Using Haks or your own content:

-If you plan on using any HAK files not included in the list above, please send an email to halloween@bouncyrock.com with the name and to the Hak.

- If you do any of your own content you need to compile your own HAK and include with the submission.

CONTENT RATING TEEN! - Please be sure to keep the rating away from mature. I know most if not all of us here are adults. Halloween is very child oriented as well.

please notify us if any of your content may conflict with other HAKs.

Builder Notes from Adam Miller:

* When naming objects, prefix your objects with something unique (I'm using "dw"). That way we don't have multiple people having a "Skeleton" tagged object, causing scripts that refer to the "Skeleton" object breaking.
* When creating custom content, we'll have to be careful about 2da lines and coordinating those.
* We should probably be careful not to hand out items that are too powerful, otherwise other people's encounters may become too easy.

Awesome Idea!!!

I think it would be really cool after, to let the community vote one which house/trick or treat/spooky story/effects etc they liked best.

We can come up with some sort of nifty award/gift for the winners!

Break them down into categories maybe?

Not sure what type of awards/gifts we can come up with. But lets keep it simple and fun!!!!

Regards
Liso

what:
I would like to create some wicked DM led adventures with this and include documentation for it to become DMFI certifide.

edit.
Who:
Skunkeen the wicked recent grand Hall of fame Dungeon Master of the year

I DM NWN1&2. I sick my fangs into alot of online game servers. Member of the DMFI and I teach the power of the DMFI DM tools in online classes.

When:
I can write up some multiple story ideas now. or I can work with what I see is made. would greatly like to see builders have alot of creative freedom to make this as creepy as possable. Brew and bubble and ill add the trouble!

Sounds fun. I can probably whip up something relatively quickly.

I'm shooting for a "Tomb of Discomfort", with associated evil shrink ray.

Let me know who I should send it to . . .

We will be setting up an FTP for all to drop their interiors/themes off.

Everyone will receive a download able link to test out the module before it is added to the vault.

Note: Everyone that enters an interior/theme will get full credit for participating!

"so nifty"

Very cool idea.

I like the Oct. 13th deadline (my birthday...woot).

Some ideas....

Survival horror (a trip to grandma's, but watchout for the werewolf)

Locked inside a museum (read books and step through paintings to get enough clues to right a past wrong).

A dare to spend a night in the haunted house

A boogy man that chases you every now and then (only certain parts of the neighborhood or maybe just one house)

Camp out in a cave and tell scary stories (but one of them is about to come true)

Now if only I have the skill to do these things. Feel free to use any of these ideas.

Some classic Halloween stories:
http://www.halloween.com/halloween-stories.php

Few more ideas:
PC reads a book (classic Halloween story, movie spoof).
Painting gets activated.
PC now reenacts the story.

Each painting can be a short classical Halloween story or movie spoof (Ghostbusters, Buffy, Freddy, Jason).

or

Each painting can be a different setting (snowy mountains, lush forest, pirate islands, dark city).

PC collects parts of puzzles from each painting event.

Solve puzzle to obtain one key.
